Granny Stripe Afghan A Work in Progress

I have been in a cross stitch funk lately and decided to try doing this Granny Stripe afghan pattern that I found as a free pattern from a lovely lady in the UK.  She made the most beautiful Granny Stripe afghan that she developed herself and shared it for everyone online.  This is the link if you might like to go and have a peek  I found this pattern at http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/granny-stripe.html.
The yarns there are just beautiful and I wish I had the ones she used, but my dh thought I should do my own version so this is an experiment in colors and trying to see what works.  So far this is my progress.  My hands are so arthritic but I think this helps loosen them up.

Brandi is doing really well and running. We have been taking our dogs to the park still and going for a few walks when it isn't too cold. Hope all of you had a nice holiday and Happy New Year to all!
